EASY PETITE CHOCOLAT YOGURT CUPS

DessertCups.jpg

Okay, I admit, I love chocolate. And, I love when my friends love chocolate.  For this episode and post of Wondermint Kids, my friend Lou came over today to make petite chocolate yogurt cups. They are great mini desserts to make for parties or for after school treats. I hope you enjoy the recipe and the video (and our goofy dramatic blooper at the end). Oh, and the video was directed by the fabulous Parker M., (my 9 year old friend) AND Lou explains some of the directions in French!

STEP ONE

Mix 1 cup of strained plain Greek Yogurt and a handful of berries in a blender until well blended. Or, mix 1 cup yogurt with 3 tablespoons of good cocoa powder (sweetened if you are using plain yogurt). Tip: This treat looks better and is easier to eat if the yogurt and the berries are not too watery. We usually use all natural Chobani or Fage yogurt.

STEP TWO

Pour yogurt mixture into pre-made chocolate cups or shells. You can also pour into pre-made mini tartlet crusts. We found our chocolate cups at a chef’s store called Surfas in Los Angeles. It’s best to look for these cups in a place that sells things to pastry/cake makers or professional chefs. (If you find a great source in your city or online for these, please share with our readers in the comments section below!) TIP: If you pour into a squeeze bottle first, it might be easier and less messy to fill a whole tray of chocolate cups.

STEP THREE

Top each filled cup with a sprig of mint, a chocolate swirl, or raspberry. Feel free to get creative here, too, with other toppings.

STEP FOUR

Voila! You are done. Now, share and enjoy.
