EASY VALENTINE’S DAY CRAFT/PARTY FAVOR
These paper mache hearts make a great party favor, birthday craft or Valentine’s Day decoration or gift. Today I made them with my friend Asha. They are a super easy and quick craft to make. If you know a teacher send them this idea. They’ll love it.
STEP ONE
Collect some recycled art paper or tissue paper in small sizes. If you only have big sheets, cut it into strips or squares to make it easier to fit onto your heart.
STEP TWO
Using modge podge, glue your pieces of paper onto the heart, layering to make a neat design. Go ahead and paint the modge podge right on top of the pieces of paper, too. This will help it all stick together and coat the heart to protect it from fingerprints.
STEP THREE
Hang on your door or give to a friend or teacher or just twirl it around and enjoy!
It’s fun to glue a message tag onto the hearts or a “to and from” tag. Asha’s tag in the photo above included a nice quote: “The journey is the reward.”
Resources: My mom and I got our 3-D paper mache hearts at our local Artists & Craftsman Supply store for $2.50. If you do not have that store near you, you can get them on Amazon for $4.50.
