HOW TO MAKE DECORATIVE BLOCKS: A QUICK & EASY CRAFT
These wood blocks are fun and easy to make. All you need are some scrap pieces of wood. If you don’t have any lying around then you can buy some at the hardware store. They can even cut them to the size you want there. In this post you’ll see some blocks my friend, Darcey, and I made to decorate our rooms. And, don’t forget to check out the How-To-Video.
All photos except the one of us together taken by Darcey and myself.
HERE’S HOW TO MAKE THESE:
Make sure your block is free of dust. Paint your block with some matte acrylic paint.
While the block is drying, photo copy an image from your favorite story book (some of the images we used are from a vintage Alice and Wonderland book we own), or from a collection of your own art or cut out an image or inspiring words from a magazine.
Glue the image onto your dry block. We used Modge Podge that dries clear.
OTHER IDEAS:
If you have extra paint and images you can also use this same technique on cardboard or foam core. Darcey and I made some cityscapes you can see below.
